Wegovy® (semaglutide) Pill
Good for: Those with weight-related health conditions who want FDA-approved semaglutide as a daily tablet instead of a weekly injection, with clinical oversight built into every step.
The Wegovy® (semaglutide) Pill is the FDA-approved oral form of semaglutide for weight reduction in adults with obesity, or with overweight plus at least one weight-related health condition. You take one tablet each morning instead of a weekly injection.
Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors in the brain and gut, which reduces appetite, slows gastric emptying, and lowers how much you eat over time. The tablet is absorbed through the stomach, which is why it has to be taken on an empty stomach with only a small amount of water.
Tablets are sourced through the manufacturer's authorized distribution channels and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy. Every bottle arrives sealed and fully traceable.
Explained by our providers
How semaglutide works
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, a hormone your gut releases after eating that signals your brain to reduce appetite and slow gastric emptying. Wegovy tablets deliver semaglutide by mouth at a 25 mg daily maintenance dose. The tablet is FDA-approved for weight reduction and was studied in the OASIS 4 clinical trial.
What to expect on semaglutide
You start at a low dose and step up once a month for the first three months before reaching the 25 mg maintenance dose. Appetite changes often show up in the first few weeks, and weight loss builds over the following months. Nausea and other GI side effects are most common while your dose is increasing, and your provider adjusts the pace based on how you're tolerating each step.

Common questions
The Wegovy® Pill isn't appropriate for everyone. They should not be used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2. Your Haven provider reviews your full health history and current medications before prescribing and monitors your response throughout treatment. Gastrointestinal side effects (see below) are common.
Take one tablet each morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 ounces of plain water, and swallow it whole. Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything else, or taking other oral medications. The standard schedule starts at 1.5 mg daily and steps up to 4 mg, then 9 mg, each for 30 days, before reaching the 25 mg maintenance dose. Your provider may slow this schedule if side effects are significant.
The first three months are a step-up period while your dose increases toward 25 mg. Many patients notice reduced appetite early on, and weight loss builds gradually over the following months. GI symptoms are most common during the step-up period and typically ease once your dose is stable.
The most commonly reported side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort, especially while your dose is increasing. These are usually temporary. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and increased heart rate. Your provider will review the complete risk profile with you.
The 25 mg semaglutide tablet was studied in the OASIS 4 trial, which enrolled 307 adults with overweight or obesity and without diabetes. Over 64 weeks, participants taking the tablet lost about 14% of their body weight on average, compared with about 2% on placebo. GI side effects were the most common adverse events and were mostly mild to moderate.
