July 8th Update on Haven Health Operations

July 8, 2026

Dear Patients,

Thank you for your continued patience during this difficult time. We've made progress and want to share the latest updates.

We are completing the vetting process for several interim supervising physician candidates and hope to resume clinical operations by Monday, if not sooner. We are pushing as hard as we can.

The current delay is in confirming each commercial payer's protocols for this interim supervising physician arrangement. Medicare is the only payer with publicly published criteria for this; each commercial payer's contract is silent on it, so we're confirming individually with each one to ensure your visit remains in-network.

What it will mean once an interim supervising physician is in place:

  • Jake Collins will resume seeing patients.
  • We will process and release test results to patients.
  • Jake Collins's existing patients can request prescription refills through our standard protocols.
  • Patients with prescriptions issued by Dr. Jack O'Brien will need to schedule a new virtual appointment to have their prescriptions reviewed and re-issued under Jake's NPI. This is a legal and regulatory requirement: pharmacies will not process prior prescriptions or refills associated with Dr. O'Brien following his passing.

We will be working to add appointment capacity to make up for the delay in care and to help Dr. O'Brien's patients complete this reset process. Given the backlog and the administrative work involved, we appreciate your patience as we work to get everything back on track.

Please reply to this email or reach out to help@havenhealth.care with specific questions, and our team will respond within two business days.

We also want to share that Haven's co-founders and the O'Brien family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help carry Haven forward and honor Jack's legacy: https://www.gofundme.com/f/havenhealth. California law requires medical practices to be physician-owned, and we're racing against a tight window to secure new clinical ownership. Funds go toward operational costs, temporary physician oversight, and the search for new clinical leadership.

We will continue to update you as things progress.
